Fly on the Wall

A few months ago, a nervous bride and her mother sat down with me for the imperative final meeting just a few days before the wedding. Well prepared with itineraries, schedules, and invoices the bride opened a three ring binder labeled "Wedding Day" and handed me a photography checklist. Bridal magazines and wedding planning guide books love these neat little photo inventory lists. She had meticulously checked off shots necessary for me to take on their wedding day.

Luxury Hotels/Resorts that Require Wedding Planners in Los Angeles and Orange County

I recently surveyed eleven luxury hotels and resorts in Los Angeles and Orange County to find what their policy is with requiring a professional wedding planner for their brides. I hope my research will inspire more partnering and collaboration with professional planners. Hope this helps when searching for your venue location. Please don’t hesitate to call or email. I am always happy to help any bride, at any stage, through the journey of wedding planning!

Inside Weddings: Spring, 2010

If you haven’t already, make sure to pick up the Spring 2010 issue of Inside Weddings magazine. Not only is it filled with amazing tips and valuable information for brides but, it also highlights two fantastic weddings featuring Chameleon chairs.

Napkin Treatments

The key to beautiful tabletop décor is all in the details. There are so many decisions to be made: linens, china, silverware, stemware, centerpieces, candles, napkin folds, etc. With so much to think about it helps to imagine each place setting as a "hang out" spot for your guests. To make it feel special, like it is made just for them, I recommend napkin treatments.

Fly on the Wall

Slow Down! What’s the hurry?

It never ceases to amaze me the speed in which some Brides walk, or should I say run down the isle. The Music starts, the church doors open and bam!! There’s the Bride sprinting towards her Groom!

What to do with Centerpieces after your Big Day

Even though you hate the idea of your flowers being thrown away at the end of the wedding night, it's important to remember that they have been "opening" all week at your florist's studio so they are at "peak bloom" on the day of your wedding. They aren't likely to hold up more than 1 -2 days past the wedding at the most (best) but here a few options in case you are determined to save the beautiful arrangements:

Parasols

The month of April means April showers, which must explain why I can't stop thinking about parasols! We recently changed our window display at The Hidden Garden to feature parasols and I think, just like flowers, they are beautiful wedding accessories.

Preserving Your Bouquet

Flower arrangements are gorgeous any day of year and especially on your wedding day. A lot of time, thought and money is invested into a bride's bouquet. Not to mention, the sentimental value. So, it is not surprising that brides want to capture that moment for decades by preserving their wedding bouquet.
