It's that time of year, the weather outside is frightful, and what better way to enjoy the indoors than to snuggle up with a great book. Also, if you know a bride-to-be the following reads make excellent gifts. So, light a fire, get cozy and prepare to be inspired!
Preston Bailey's "Fantasty Weddings," "Design for Entertaining:Inspiration for Creating the Party of Your Dreams," "Inspirations," and "Celebrations:Lush Flowers, Opulent Tables, Dramatic Spaces, and Other Inspirations for Entertaining," are all pure eye candy. His work is just amazing and his books are always gorgeous. They are nice, hardcovers with lots of big, glossy photos - so prepare to spend a little on these.
Jeff Leatham's book "Flowers by Design," is great for the modern bride who appreciates "simple elegance". Just keep in mind that "simple elegance" in his book is expensive. His arrangements might just be a vase filled with all cala lilies, but there are hundreds in the vase! The abundance adds up - more flowers (even simply designed) equals lots of money! If you like Leatham's work, check out his show Flowers Uncut - it's fun to watch.
Mindy Weiss's "Wedding Guide" is a perfect selection for the bride that loves a planning book.
Colin Cowie's "Extraordinary Weddings: From a Glimmer of an Idea to a Legendary Event," will definitely give you thousands of glimmering ideas and from a florist's perspective is pretty realistic for most brides.
Happy reading and I'd love to know which book you pick!
