Slow Down! What’s the hurry?
It never ceases to amaze me the speed in which some Brides walk, or should I say run down the isle. The Music starts, the church doors open and bam!! There’s the Bride sprinting towards her Groom!
Let’s consider for a moment the magnitude of the processional. You, the bride, have planned this day for months, perhaps years. Some of you have thought about this day while playing Barbies when you were 11. Balancing both love and diplomacy, you have painstakingly revised the guest list countless times in order to surround yourself with the perfect A-list of family and friends. Complex mathematical formulas were used to calculate the gown-to-heel-to-floor ratio, thus achieving the perfect hem of your dress. You vacillated for a month between Trumpet Voluntary in D Major, or Pachelbel Canon. You insisted that your future husband wear Tom Ford and not Armani. Yet, in spite of the fact that this moment represents the climax of the wedding planning… a moment that time should stand still … many brides, for whatever reason take off down the isle sometimes dragging their father in tow!
So ladies, slow down. Stroll. Even stop if you wish! When the doors open, breathe deep and just for a few seconds before you start walking, look into the sea of faces that are beaming at you. Don’t be shy. Look at them and allow your eyes to slowly connect with the people that mean the most to you. This is simply one of life’s moments that should be engraved into your memory for the rest of your life
