Holiday Wedding Ideas

Getting married during the Holidays can be so romantic, but as far as Holiday wedding décor goes it can also be a little tricky. How do you make your wedding feel like a wedding and not just another Holiday party? The trick to not being cliché is to not go overboard with the red and green color combination. If you have to have it, consider choosing one or the other, or using them as accent colors. There are plenty of other color palettes that evoke the spirit of the season. Going winter white is a beautiful, classic choice. The texture of an arrangement incorporating white hydrangea, white roses and white dendro can't help but make you think of a snowflake's intricate pattern. Other colors like purple and a frosty, pale blue, or turquoise, also make a modern, winter palette.

The Holidays are a great time of year to go for a rustic, outdoorsy décor. Incorporating evergreen, moss and pine cones illuminated with an abundance of candles will make every guest feel like they have stepped into a winter wonderland, plus the smell will only add to the overall ambiance. If you like the idea of using pine cones, or branches, and want to elevate their look for the occasion spray paint them silver, or gold. This simple touch will add Holiday sparkle - especially when they catch the candlelight.

Candy buffets and dessert bars are two trends that lend themselves to a Holiday wedding. What better way to make visions of sugar plum fairies dance in your guests' heads? Have the colors of the candies and desserts compliment the color of the event and use beautiful glass containers in varying heights to create a visually stunning, not to mention yummy, display.

For a wedding that is festive, but not over-the-top, try incorporating some of these tips. Happy Holidays!
