There is something about a wreath that is quaint, welcoming and festive all at the same time. This is why we often give wreaths as housewarming gifts and hang them on our doors at the holidays. This is also why I love them for wedding décor. Whatever personality your wedding takes on there is a type of wreath that will add just the right amount of charm.
Wreaths do wonders for dressing up an entrance, whether it be the church doors for your ceremony or the gates at your reception. They are also a beautiful way to add a floral touch to so many parts of your wedding; large trees, church pews, backs of chairs, or your getaway car. Plus, an added bonus is that they travel well and can easily be repurposed - if you use them at the ceremony site, don't forget to bring them to the reception!
Depending on the season wreaths can be made of everything from foliage to berries to florals. I love to create a lush, floral wreath from hydrangea. Their blooms were made for wreaths. They fill out a wreath perfectly and are show stoppers when hung from thick satin ribbon.
Wreaths come in all shapes and sizes. Many couples choose round wreaths because the circle symbolizes what a union is all about, never-ending love. There are other options, however, that also ooze romance like wreaths in the shape of a heart, or the bride and groom's initials.
If you are in search of that customized floral touch, look no further than the wreath. Just as they traditionally symbolize never-ending love, the possibilities for different looks are also never-ending. Think of them as a blank canvas and let your imagination takeover!
