Kirstie Kelly of Kirstie Kelly, Inc. designs couture bridal gowns with the highest quality and attention to detail. A graduate of The Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles, she has been designing bridal and evening wear for ten years and in business for herself for the past nine years. In addition to bridal, she designs couture suits and gowns.
Having grown up in Europe and the United States, Ms. Kelly was exposed to international style at a young age. Upon graduation from Parsons, she worked for large established multinational fashion companies, where she traveled throughout Europe, Asia and the United States managing multi-million dollar budgets and teams around the world to design and produce fabric and shapes. In 1998, Ms. Kelly formed Kirstie Kelly Inc. and is part of an exclusive group of designers featured in select ateliers in New York, Atlanta and San Francisco. In 2003, she relocated her studio and showroom to Los Angeles where clients enjoy private design consultations and fittings while sipping tea and having lunch.
Ms. Kelly conceptualizes her designs at each season, looking to different cultures for specific details. "I prefer to stay away from trend based designing," says Ms. Kelly. "I look more towards moods for inspiration."
In addition to designing couture bridal, gowns and suits, Ms. Kelly is a guest lecturer at Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles and the wedding consultant for Stratus Rewards. She has contributed to several books on weddings and design and is also co-founder of wedding workshops offered at exclusive hotels in Southern California catering to stylish brides and their mothers.
Hailed in USA Today as one of the 2003 season's new designers favored among celebrity brides, Ms. Kelly has a growing client base that includes individuals who are influencing the worldwide media, art, culinary and political societies. Fox News has showcased Ms. Kelly's gowns for several of its news stories focusing on California designers. In addition, Ms. Kelly has designed gowns for films and television and is constantly approached by stylists for their celebrity clientele. "Kirstie knows how to cut for a woman's body," says Laurie Escowitz, wardrobe stylist on Will & Grace. "Her dresses and gowns are clean, fresh, original and beautiful. We chose a graded dress for Debra Messing. It was the perfect color and the perfect cut for Debra."
Ms. Kelly is dedicated to creating garments that express the unique personalities and subtle qualities of today's woman with timeless designs, superior quality and premium personalized service to her clients.
