About Us

Our clients, in essence, hire us to see their wedding day through our eyes. It is our privilege to ensure that every meaningful detail of this most important day is recorded in an artful way. We feel it is equally important to create beautiful photographs as it is to create a masterpiece album designed and hand crafted specifically for each Bride and Groom.

Joe has artfully photographed weddings in Southern California, the U.S. and abroad for more than twenty years. He has extensive experience in both photojournalism and traditional portraiture. His award-winning contemporary style continues to earn him high praise and enthusiastic referrals. Married in the Fall of 2001, Joe's wife, Mirta, is also his business partner. With her background in fine art and photography, Mirta assists Joe or works as a second photographer. She is also responsible for custom album design.

Our Style

Our style is a combination of photojournalism and classic portraiture. We include color, black and white, sepia, and hand colored photographs in our albums. The Barnet Photography difference, however, is our ability to anticipate when a special moment - a split second in time that cannot be recreated - is about to happen. We capture love, emotions, excitement.

We strive for the perfect balance of story telling, photojournalistic coverage and relaxed portraiture to create a timeless heirloom album that will be treasured for generations to come. We pay great attention to detail and make sure everyone special is included. We work quickly and in a fun way to ensure that expressions are fresh and natural.
