In his 25 years as a wedding and fashion photographer, Yitzhak Dalal has created a remarkable body of work.  Through his cinematic style, Yitzhak’s subjects appear animated and natural – even when the shots are directed.  “When people see my photographs,” Yitzhak says, “they think I use professional models, but I don’t.  What they’re seeing are the actual wedding couples captured in emotional moments that express the way they feel about each other.”

Yitzhak sees each wedding as a blank canvas ready to be illustrated in the unique style of each occasion.  As the day unfolds, so does his storybook chronicle, weaving images of spontaneous moment with the episodes he perceptively directs.  “I capture whatever is revealed to me,” Yitzhak explains.  During the reception, he’s everywhere.  “I feel like I have twenty eyes – I’m always aware of what’s happening around me so that I can catch all the little stories that add so much to the bigger story.”  He has extraordinary intuition and imagination, seeing what other people might never notice.

Yitzhak is also very aware of the bonds between family members and friends and tries to capture the radiance they exude around each other in his photos.  “I feel the picture before I take it,” he explains.  The results are images whose appeal goes far beyond superficial beauty.  There’s a depth to them, a layering of emotion, color and movement.  Clients often say, “You made the wedding!” – but they’re not the only ones who appreciate his artistry.  In 1996, Yitzhak Dalal was one of five artists asked to exhibit their work at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.  At the show opening, he was presented a plaque from the Mayor’s office that read: “Your work captures the essence of the photography to liberate the secret soul of the familiar, and to remind us of what our eyes have yet to discover in the world around us.”

Yitzhak has photographed numerous celebrity weddings, including Matchbox 20’s Rob Thomas and Marisol Maldonado, Rebecca Romijn and John Stamos, The Bachelorette’s Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, Kristi Yamaguchi, Eddie Cibrian, Lela Rochon and Antoine Fuqua, Scott Hamilton, Katey Sagal, and Toni Braxton to mention a few.  He was also contracted to photograph the potential event of the decade – the wedding of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.  His work is frequently featured in InStyle, People Magazine, Inside Weddings, Elegant Bride, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, and Brentwood Magazine.
