It seems that Meighan Jackson and Jaime Dietenhofer live a “charmed” life.  From their early days as high school sweethearts to their nuptials in enchanting Solvang, California, the couple has enjoyed their share of unique settings.

The proposal took place in Hallstadt, Austria, which is an enchanting little town that Jaime and Meighan had visited while living in Austria during college.  Luring Meighan to Austria under the guise of a fake economics conference, Jaime orchestrated the surprise proposal without a hitch.

One year later, Meighan and Jaime pledged their love for each other in front of two hundred-twenty guests, six bridesmaids and six groomsmen at the Bethania Lutheran Church in culture-steeped Solvang.  Following the afternoon ceremony, the guests were treated to an evening of dinner and dancing at the Dietenhofer residence, “Shadow Downs Ranch,” in gorgeous Los Olivos, California.

Meighan and Jaime were driven from the Church to the reception by Jaime’s neighbor, Andy Johnson, in his mint condition classic car.  Besides providing a stylish mode of transportation, the couple recalls that it also gave them a sentimental moment alone to relax and reflect on their moving ceremony before joining their guests at the Ranch.

Rather than basing their wedding around a specific theme, the bride and groom chose to focus on making the event comfortable and fun rather than formal.  With an outdoor reception, the couple wanted to keep things simple to let the natural splendor of the site to have the spotlight.  The colors were shades of green, accented with light touches of lavender and blue for a summery feel.   Besides creating a distinctive atmosphere, the choice of reception location also allowed for a party without boundaries.  Being at the groom’s parents’ estate meant that the couple could have music as loud as they wanted (without having to worry about bothering the neighbors!) and also allowed the guests to stay as late as they wanted, without the ending times imposed by many venues.  Most importantly, it also provided a setting with character, living up to the standards set by this charming couple.
