After meeting at work for the first time when Evyn Smith was introduced to his new colleagues, Kendall Greer immediately stood out to him. “I remember thinking how beautiful she was… and that our workspaces were fairly close to each other,” Evyn smiles. It didn’t take long for the two to begin a romance, which eventually led to a proposal. Evyn presented Kendall with a diamond engagement ring at The St. Regis Atlanta, where they would later host their wedding reception amongst nearly 400 loved ones.

“The amount of detail that goes into a wedding was surprising to me. You really have to decide on everything, no matter how big or small,” describes Kendall. In order to accommodate their large guest list, they opted for their ceremony to take place in a private-club ballroom with a magnificent long aisle that the bride loved. It was most efficient to have the celebrations in two locations, rather than spending a lot of time transforming the hotel ballroom from ceremony to reception.

For most of the wedding planning, Kendall relied on her incredible team of wedding professionals, as well as her mother. “There was not one aspect of this process in which my mom was not involved in, and I am so thankful for that,” expresses Kendall. Evyn enjoyed participating in all venue tours and tastings, as well as being involved in the musical entertainment, his attire, and that of his groomsmen. The thoughtful groom also personally selected gifts for each of his groomsmen to show his gratitude for the sacrifices they made to be part of the big day.

A classic color scheme of neutral tones was selected for the winter wedding. A draped entrance to the all-white ballroom set the tone for the elegant event, and a mixture of vanilla florals and candlelight embellished the entryway as well. Kendall looked angelic as she made her way down the aisle. She paired her strapless fit-and-flare gown with a mock-neck bolero and carried a lush cascading bouquet of O’Hara garden roses, ranunculus blossoms, and phalaenopsis orchids. Her groom was handsome in a custom black-and-white tuxedo.

They met beneath a stunning acrylic circular structure made complete with fresh phalaenopsis orchids, roses, and hydrangeas designed by Edge Design Group. “It came out exactly as I envisioned!” muses the bride of the floral arbor. At the conclusion of the traditional Christian service, Kendall and Evyn exited to a lively version of “Let’s Get Married” by Jagged Edge

“It came out exactly as I envisioned!”

A custom-made “Greer-Smith” flag flew outside the luxurious hotel as guests arrived for the reception. The sophisticated décor continued with the lavish ballroom bedecked in shades of ivory and a spectacular floral halo suspended over the dance floor. “The floral masterpiece draped perfectly over the round, mirrored dance floor,” illustrates the bride of the pièce de résistance. Kendall reveals the first dance was particularly special to her: “It was such a beautiful moment having our family and friends surround us, while the [fog machine] filled the dance floor with a dreamy ambience.”

Dinner tables were adorned with a mix of high and low arrangements including hydrangeas, spray roses, tulips, and phalaenopsis orchids, as well a trio of tall Monet candle holders and mirrored votives to create a layered candlelight glow. A lush floral runner of white and blush flowers draped across and down the sides of the custom curved residential-style bridal table.

After attendees finished their sit-down dinner, they were served slices of the sparkling seven-tier wedding cake and encouraged to take photos in the booth that instantly printed out sepia-toned images imprinted with Kendall and Evyn’s names and wedding date. The newlyweds and their loved ones enjoyed dancing to a blend of genres from old school R&B to hip-hop and classic songs with alternating sets from a live band and DJ

The special day was everything that the bride and groom had imagined. Kendall credits her event team for making her dreams come to fruition. “Work with people you trust and that understand your vision,” she emphasizes. The rest of the evening was beautifully seamless, with the couple still having a romantic honeymoon in Los Cabos, Mexico to look forward to as newlyweds!
