There is something about candles that just screams romance. Their twinkle adds just the right amount of light to perfectly set the mood for any occasion. I mean, what would a romantic dinner be without candlelight and what would a table at your wedding reception be without beautiful candle treatments?

Classic votives are always an option, but in their simplicity comes plenty of opportunity to add embellishments and dress them up! One of my favorite treatments is to wrap the votives with beautiful, satin ribbon like elegant and sparkling packages. You can do this with a strip of ribbon around the center and then tying it with a ribbon knot, or with a French knot up the glass. To add a splash of color, or an exotic touch, I recommend using Moroccan tea glass to spice up your votives. The clear votive with gold accents in the picture below is a perfect example of Moroccan tea glass. For an organic, natural look I like to leaf wrap the votives. This adds warmth to an otherwise "cold glass" container. Another option is to add rose petals, or reflexed rose heads, to the base of the candle. The way the light shines through these natural elements is breathtaking.
