Travel & Honeymoons - FAQ

What are the best honeymoon destinations?

There isn't one right answer for what the best honeymoon destinations are! With so many couples taking various sorts of honeymoon vacations these days, the choice is really dependent on the length of your trip, your interests, and the ideal honeymoon destination for you as a couple.

Some newlyweds decide to just go away for a few days on what's often called a mini-moon, while others take a week to relax on white-sand beaches, some spend two weeks exploring various countries in Europe, and some lucky pairs take a month-long trip around the world. Some newlyweds prefer to stay on U.S. soil and visit their favorite national park or famous hot springs, while others decide to take in the natural beauty of a private island oasis in the Pacific Ocean or even the Indian Ocean.

For some location ideas worldwide, we've had couples stay at five-star properties in French Polynesia or Costa Rica, island hop around Mykonos and Santorini, Greece, visit Bora Bora or the Caribbean, experience luxury resort destinations and world-class spas in New York City or farm-to-table meals paired with wine and historic sites in Italy, and see some of the world's best beaches in the South of France.

That being said, the best romantic honeymoon destinations are sometimes those popular honeymoon spots and oftentimes more laid-back, off-the-beaten-path properties or locations to explore. Whether you choose to go luxury or laid-back, choose the hotel style and location that makes the most sense for you as a couple.

What do couples do on a honeymoon?

A honeymoon offers a newly married couple the opportunity to get away from everyday life and celebrate their new marriage just the two of them. Traditionally, it occurs right after the wedding; however, some couples choose to just have a mini-moon right after they say "I do" and plan a longer trip when they have more time in their schedules.

Depending on the couple's likes and dislikes, honeymooners may choose to focus their vacation on spending time by the infinity pool or spa, having an exotic adventure that crosses items off of their bucket list, scuba diving in the sea, trying new food, exploring a new town or country, or simply spending time together at a beautiful hotel or beach while watching as the sun sets. Romance is of course at the forefront of any post-wedding vacation, but many couples choose to take adventurous trips as well!
