On February 12, 2011, Kristianna Erickson and Bryan Laam exchanged wedding vows at an outdoor ceremony overlooking the Pacific Ocean on a perfect day in Dana Point, California.
The bride chose a delicious color palette that helped establishe a vibe for the affair that was elegant yet glamorous. A blend of fuchsia, magenta, and deep purple was set against a theme of black and white, and accents of sparkling crystal elements were added for just the right amount of glitz and dazzle. A damask motif inspired by their wedding stationery was repeated throughout the ceremony and reception in décor elements such as the table linens, place cards, embellishment ribbons, and even the couple’s impressive four-tiered wedding cake that the bride designed herself.
After walking down an aisle festooned with swirled rose petals, bride and groom said their “I dos” in front of a flower arch and billowing white fabric. The bride looked stunning in a mermaid-style gown that featured jeweled appliqué and a strapless sweetheart neckline. Bridesmaids wore black floor-length gowns, also strapless, and carried colorful floral arrangements that appeared even richer against their solid garments. Each lady also donned a single pink tropical flower in her hair.
The reception was full of fun details such as a fabulous candy bar and a photo booth which made guests feel like they were kids again. The walls of the room were draped with white fabric and illuminated by backlighting that constantly changed colors throughout the night, adding to the festive and fun atmosphere. Black Chiavari chairs were wrapped with a single silky white ribbon, while towering floral centerpieces in glass vases added color, cheer, and of course, a bit of bling.
