Rachel Lindsay Reveals Her Stand-In Engagement Ring
Though the latest season of The Bachelorette has only just begun, we already know that star Rachel Lindsay is happily engaged! Of course, we’ll have to wait until the finale to find out who the lucky man is, as well as finally seeing the Neil Lane ring he uses to pop the question. In the mean time, Rachel has been showing her commitment by wearing a delicate white gold band on her ring finger.
While we know she’ll eventually have a big sparkler to flaunt, we have noticed a trend of celebs going for the more understated look. When Amanda Seyfried got engaged, she wore a plain yellow gold band. Sometimes it’s less about aesthetics and more about personal safety. Mila Kunis may have received a stunning five-carat diamond ring from hubby Ashton Kutcher, but she keeps it locked up partially due to a fear of being mugged.
Even everyday brides sometimes opt to wear a stand-in ring in certain situations. Vacations are probably the most common situation to lock up the real engagement ring, with either a simple band or an inexpensive duplicate made from sterling silver and cubic zirconia. Others have careers that make wearing a large ring difficult, choosing to bring out the meaningful jewelry for special occasions.
As excited as we are to see what engagement ring is presented to Rachel at the end of the season, we can’t help but wonder if her current ring will wind up having some sentimental value. After all, she’ll have been wearing it for months by the time she gets to wear the real one. Or perhaps she wears her diamond ring while on secret rendezvous with her still-unknown fiancé, meaning it will always remind her of the early romantic days of their engagement. All we know for sure is that we can’t wait to see who gets the final rose!
