Inside Weddings shares wedding and bridal beauty trends, ideas, and need-to-know advice! From fragrance and perfume options, to inspiration for wedding-day hair and makeup, to fitness and wellness tips, to manicure ideas, and pre-wedding skincare, we're sharing tips for looking your best in the days before the wedding.
With varying timelines between the proposal and the wedding day, the bridal beauty timeline varies from bride to bride. However, considering a typical one-year engagement, see below for our suggestions!
12 Months Before the Wedding: Begin to manage your stress levels to stay looking radiant throughout your wedding planning – and get on a good sleep schedule. You may also want to schedule an appointment with your dermatologist to create a strategy for your skin goals. If you're interested in laser hair removal, now is the time to get started.
9 Months Before: If you haven't already set up a skin strategy with your skincare professional, now is the time. Speak with him or her about whether retinol is right for you, and start getting in the routine of regular facial treatments to address your skincare needs. Now is also the time to test a new hair color (some brides do this 6 months before) and create your fitness plan (with a personal trainer if you need a boost).
4 Months Before: Now it's time to visit your checklist for planning a wedding. If you haven't already, start your planning your trial dates to find a hair stylist and makeup artist that you love. Be sure to book them as soon as you know so that you're not left without a stylist on the big day.
2-3 Months Before: With just a two to three months until the big day, it's time to start testing some things and having certain treatments done. If you're planning on having a spray tan, try it first two months before. The same goes for your manicure and pedicure style, as you'll want to be confident in your choices. Now is also the time to consider Botox, teeth whitening, microblading, fitness regimens, more healthy habits, etc.
2-3 Weeks Before: At the two-week point before your wedding, it's time to get your brows waxed, shaped, or threaded, exfoliate your skin, schedule a teeth cleaning, consider lash extensions, and get any hair or skin treatment suggestions recommended by your professional.
1 Week Before: Get a gentle facial – not the one you would get six months beforehand, but one that will 100% not cause any reaction. It's recommended to get a wax five days before so you also don't have any poor reactions.
2-3 Days Before: Think of this time as you would any big event or vacation. Get your nails done, get a spray tan, and make sure you stay hydrated. Most of all, get excited and plan any last-minute beauty or health activities for your self-care routine!
