Mooney Falls is a stunning waterfall cascading off the red rocks in Arizona into a pool of brilliant blue water. Yet it was understandable that the natural beauty couldn’t hold the attention of Vanessa Morgan. The actress who portrays Toni Topaz on the hit show Riverdale was on vacation with her boyfriend Michael Kopech, pitcher for the Chicago White Sox. Michael underwent Tommy John surgery last fall, but even though he can’t play baseball this year, he’s continuing to live his best life with Vanessa. While standing near the base of the waterfall, he got on one knee and proposed.
While Vanessa shared a stunning snapshot of the moment, with the beautiful Mooney Falls in the background, Michael posted a video to his Instagram account. Though the roar of the falls masks what might have been said during the proposal, cheers of onlookers can be heard after she said yes. As a caption, Michael wrote an impassioned paragraph of his new fiancée and how she has supported him this past year of their relationship.
As if the backdrop of the proposal wasn’t beautiful enough, Vanessa is now rocking an amazing pear-shaped diamond ring on her finger. It’s difficult to ascertain from the Instagram post, but it appears there may be a halo surrounding the gorgeous center stone. This is a very on-trend engagement ring style for celebrities over the past year or two.
