Engagement season may be starting up again, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still beautiful weddings happening every weekend! The cooler months are a popular time for destination weddings – a chance to escape colder temperatures for a tropical island – and the nuptials between Victoria’s Secret model Devon Windsor and her new husband Johnny Dex Barbara were no exception!
Just under a year and a half after their incredibly romantic engagement, the duo tied the knot in St. Barths. Pictures from the model’s Instagram account show a full weekend-long celebration in the island locale.
Despite the tropical destination for the occasion, the ceremony itself was held in a traditional church – though there was still plenty of time for beachside celebration. The bride entered the house of worship on the arm of her father, who wore a cream suit. In fact, it appears everyone – including the groom and bridesmaids – wore shades of white for the big day.
Devon’s stunning gown featured an off-the-shoulder neckline with long illusion sleeves, as well as many floral appliqués, which lessened in density along the skirt in order to allow for sheer elements. The keyhole back was accented by a trail of covered buttons down the center. A lace-trimmed cathedral veil completed the elegant look.
As the newlyweds exited through the arch of greenery and alabaster blossoms, guests showered them with rice, embracing a classic tradition before celebrating at the reception.
After the festivities, Devon and Johnny remained on the romantic island for their honeymoon. Befitting the bride’s work as founder and designer of her own swimwear line, she wore a special white swimsuit for the occasion, with a belt detail emblazoned with “Mrs. Barbara” on the back.
