Not every bride feels the need to wear matching white or ivory shoes for her wedding. In fact, we increasingly see brides don colorful heels for the big day. A pair of sapphire pumps is particularly popular for a “something blue” item. However, something so vibrant doesn’t fit with every wedding, especially as pastels fill Pinterest boards. For brides who want something different than classic white, but don’t want to be so offbeat with their choice, neutral hues offer an excellent solution.

Whether beige, tan, nude, or even a sparkling champagne, these shades are elegant and sophisticated while not coming off as traditional to the point of being stuffy. A simple pump is always sleek and polished, but crystal embellishments add an element of glamour. You could also pick a pair of heels with charming bows that exude feminine romance, if not a strappy or studded style for a modern bride.

We’ve gathered nine of our favorite looks worn by brides in real weddings, below. Click on your favorites to see the rest of these celebrations, or get further inspiration from our shoes and bags gallery.
