Bohemian Styles from the Joy Collection by Barbara Kavchok
As the lead designer of Joy, Barbara Kavchok utilizes her background in fine arts when creating new gowns for the Fall 2017 line. Artistic touches are seen throughout the collection, with each dress featuring multiple textures and many with surprise details. With an eye towards environmentalism and domestically produced designs, Joy is a great choice for the socially conscious bride who desires a wedding dress that is somehow both simple and unique.
Highlights from the collection include “Mallory” – a gown with a full skirt and half sleeves all made with graphic laser-cut lace. Though it can be ordered in all ivory, the blush underlay and belt keeps with modern trends. Brides can surprise their guests with “Edie”. At first glance, the dress with a bateau neckline, floral lace bodice, and sheer back appears to have an A-line skirt. However, movement reveals the chiffon skirt is cut in panels, revealing a lace miniskirt underneath. There’s no need for a separate reception dress when your ceremony gown already covers the best of both worlds!
