Head Into the Forest for Ivy & Aster's Fall 2016 Collection
For her latest collection, designer Jessica Brown of Ivy & Aster imagined her brides as being lost in the forest, finding inspiration among green, mysterious trees.
“A forest represents the ultimate setting for a fairy tale,” says Brown. “Even if her wedding is in the middle of a busy city, bringing elements of the outside in creates a sense of being lost in a forest of love, evoking a romantic vision on your wedding day.” As such, nature-inspired details grace effortless gowns of Chantilly lace, silk organza, and silk chiffon. A leaf motif can be found in the Guipure lace of "Eden," while 3D floral appliqués form a belt across the V-neck "Birch" gown. In a surprisingly cozy touch, cashmere and wool are also featured prominently in the collection. A sexy, body-hugging tank dress is offered in two sweater styles: cable knit and cashmere.
The bridal collection also includes separates, allowing brides to mix and match skirts with short- and long-sleeved sweater tops. Skirts are offered in Alençon lace with pockets, matte crepe in a trumpet silhouette, and a soft net with a midi length. Additionally, a beaded net capelet can be layered over a silk knit camisole.
