Modern Feminine Bridal Gowns by Isabelle Armstrong Fall 2019
The Gibson Girls captured the essence of modern feminine women in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as they possessed intelligence, beauty, and talent. So for fall 2019, Remy Quinones, the CEO and Creative Director of the label Isabelle Armstrong, looked to these original feminists for inspiration. According to Quinones, "The Gibson Girls serve as inspiration for our Fall 2019 collection; pieces that individually represent femininity and strength, with classic, yet bold, detailing. Our brand has always incorporated elements that exemplify both the dichotomy and symbiotic relationship between beauty, strength, and powerful femininity, as interpreted through fashion."
In an intimate setting, Quinones presented a tight lineup of exquisite, feminine gowns, with a refined hand. Some key looks included a lace embroidered ball gown with a V-neck and delicate straps, a dramatic fit-and-flare sequin and lace embroidered gown with a detachable faille overskirt, and a tea-length ball gown with pearl and sequin embroidery. Quinones also offered several cleaner, minimalist looks, such as a classic fit-and-flare crepe gown with long sleeves and a dramatic open back that was fit to perfection, as well as a wide-leg pant in dutchess satin paired with a strapless corset with lace embroidery, perfect for the modern-day bride.
