Modern Gowns with a Hint of Traditional from Christos Spring 2018
After retiring in 2005, designer Christos Yiannakou passed the torch to Amsale to carry out her creative vision. With the debut of the Christos Spring 2018 collection, it’s clear that the legacy of tradition infused with a modern sensibility is intact. The 10 new gowns evoke soft romance without coming across as old-fashioned and incorporate contemporary trends without straying too far from a classic image of a bride.
Women hoping for a relaxed, comfortable ensemble will adore “Sena,” a simple crepe dress with spaghetti straps and a lace cutout in a chic chevron pattern at the waist. Brides desiring something closer to the classic princess look without ignoring their personality may prefer “Arlene.” A beaded floral bodice and a lacy illusion back cut into a V balance the full skirt of the tulle ball gown.
