Romantic Gowns from Yumi Katsura Spring 2018
The Spring 2018 "Rhapsody in White" collection by Yumi Katsura was inspired by American composer George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue." The latest collection "celebrates the classic bride with a jazzy edge," says the design house. Drawing inspiration from the romance portrayed in the composer's other classics – including "An American in Paris" and "Summertime and Embraceable You" – the styles feature a whimsical yet traditional look.
"White in all of its various forms, from snow to alabaster and shades of ivory commingled with nude, is so flattering on all skin types," says Yumi Katsura. The materials feature layers of luxurious Italian tulles, silk organzas, custom laces, floral appliqués, and embroideries. Brides with a flair for standing out will love "Faith," a stunning fit-and-flare gown made of elegant custom embroidery, as well as "Fergie," which features a similar bodice with a dramatic ruffled skirt. For women desiring a romantic look, "Fallon" features a sheer high neck and cap sleeve with a feminine detachable belt, "Farah" showcases a soft organza and lace skirt with a sheer lace neckline, and "Farrell" has delicate, three-dimensional handmade flower appliqués and crystals.
