Sensual, Dramatic Styles from Reem Acra Spring 2017

Reem Acra’s motto is “Where the trend begins and the tradition continues,” which comes across clearly in her spring 2017 line. Featuring dramatic trains, lace-up bustiers, detachable accessories, and pieces that convert into veils, the collection adds a modern twist to looks that feel like classic wedding gowns.

With several of the dresses featuring plunging necklines, and more styles featuring bustier bodices, a theme of sensuality is clear throughout the collection. There are also some sweeter styles, such as “Look 17,” which has a Cinderella-like feel to it with a tulle ball gown and embroidered sequins. Ruffles are another popular feature in the collection, with layers of organza adding volume to the gowns. Chantilly lace is frequently used as well, adding an old-world feel to some of the more modern looks. Multiple dresses featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline are able to walk the line between demure and sexy – an often ideal combination for brides.
