When deciding on the tunes that will played throughout your wedding reception, couples will typically choose songs ranging from romantic ballads to chart-topping hits that will get everyone on the dance floor. Regardless of whether you choose to have a band or DJ perform at your reception, your entertainment professional will likely ask you for a list of have-to-have songs as well as those you'd like to put on the do-not-play list.

Larry King of Larry King Orchestra encourages his couples to help with the song list, as a celebration typically requires about 70 tunes. Bonnie Foster of Bonnie Foster Productions agrees that couples should share their favorite genres, artists, and songs; however, she emphasizes that brides and grooms should put faith in their professionals to really know which selections will help move the celebration along in the best way possible.
