2019 Trends Inspired by Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas' Wedding

Mother of Pearl
To say that Priyanka’s dresses were beautiful is an understatement. For the traditional western wedding ceremony, Priyanka wore a hand-beaded and hand-embroidered dress featuring floral and scroll motifs, lace-effect tulle appliqués, scalloped sleeves, and a high-neck collar. Underneath her long-sleeved gown was a strapless column dress made up of 2,380,000 mother-of-pearl sequins. Pearls are making a comeback in a big way: from pearl embroideries to features like dress straps, necklines, and in accessories, these are not just your grandmother’s “something old.” This dainty detail can feel organic, innovative, and will give you an extra-elegant feel.

Double-Breasted Tuxedo Jacket
Double-breasted tuxedo jackets are all the rage. Nick wore a Ralph Lauren Purple label double-breasted black tuxedo and custom patent shoes. Today’s double-breasted jackets are a slimmer cut – making them much more flattering – perfect for the guy who wants a bold look. Make your wedding tuxedo even more special by including a special sentiment inside – either special words sewn into the lapel or a piece of the bride's dress stitched in the inside of the jacket.

Extra-Long Veil
Priyanka Chopra completed her elegant wedding look with a long tulle veil that reached 75 feet in length. Many brides opt to not wear a veil on their wedding day. However, if they do chose to wear one, the longer the better makes for an incredibly classic and chic look.

Destination Wedding Goodies for Guests
Priyanka and Nick gave every wedding guest an “Oh Sh*t Kit” – a survival pack for the weekend. The kits included information packets for the couple’s wedding extravaganza. There were pamphlets called “Western Weddings for Dummies” and “Indian Weddings for Dummies.” The pack also included customized silver coins monogrammed with the couple’s initials. Destination wedding welcome bags and favors are a great way to show your appreciation to those who have traveled the distance and spent a considerable amount of money to attend your big day! Fill them with snacks, lotions, or anything that your guests would love.

Soft and Natural Makeup
When you have an incredibly beautiful and intricate gown like Priyanka wore, go for a soft, natural look for your makeup. Wearing light makeup allows for your natural beauty to show through – plus you should look like yourself on your wedding day! Having a natural look will always be timeless.

Wine-Stained Lip
Keeping the focus on flawless skin and the perfect pout, use a rich berry lipstick for that kissable wine-stained lip.

Mansion Cakes
Nick and Priyanka’s wedding cake was comprised of at least six tiers and stood 18-feet tall. The cake, resembling a mansion, was luxuriously decorated from top to bottom. The cake included gold columns, little windows, and what resembled a miniature chandelier. Having a very tall cake with ornate gold details and cream-colored icing adds an elegant and romantic touch to the entire confection. This style of unique cake is perfect for a specific type of wedding but not the most versatile for all couples. I still am a big fan of classic chic cakes for 2019.
