If you're looking for color inspiration for your wedding events, we always love to look to the Pantone Color of the Year for ideas! The 2025 color is a luxurious warm brown hue, which will be a favorite for many couples!
For over 20 years, the Pantone Color Institute has selected the "Color of the Year" – meant to be a symbol of the new year to come. The 2025 Color of the Year has been announced as Mocha Mousse. Selected because of its nurturing rich, warm brown hue, the color is meant to provide the comfort we so desire, just like the name honoring chocolate and coffee suggests.
"For Pantone Color of the Year 2025, we look to a mellow brown hue whose inherent richness and sensorial and comforting warmth extends further into our desire for comfort, and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others," Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman shares of the new color selection for this coming year.
If you're still choosing a design scheme for your wedding day, incorporating elegant warm brown tones into your color palette can work well for celebrations in any season. Especially fitting for cozy fall and winter fêtes, there are a number of ways to utilize this subtle, sensorial rich tone throughout your ceremony and reception. As a strong foundation, Mocha Mousse invites a range of color palettes to be created around its base, with the option to layer creamy tans, blush and amber hues, warm greens, and even lavender and blue shades to create a full palette for your wedding design.
The home and fashion design worlds have been taking this hue by storm, and we're sure more and more wedding décor palettes will include the shade – and similar tones – after this new announcement from the Pantone Color Institute. We can't wait to see the unique ways couples incorporate this color in their design, whether for pre-wedding events or the big day itself!
