If you want to avoid sticking to traditional soft tones for your wedding day, here are 21 examples of dark hues to bolden your color palette.
Oftentimes, brides and grooms plan their weddings around soft color palettes showcasing whites, neutrals, pinks, and pastels; however, those are not the only tones available to choose from on your wedding day. In fact, we love to see when couples select a not-so-ordinary color palette of dark hues accented with moody florals. While your nuptials celebrate your love in a cheerful way, adding bolder colors to your palette can give the experience a dramatic, avant-garde feel that will impress your guests, as it won't look anything like other weddings they've attended.
If you want a darker palette but love the idea of incorporating pink into your big day, try including burgundy, mauve, maroon, plum, or even fuchsia shades through your florals or linens. And if you want to add some sparkle to deflect from the drama of a moody color scheme, dress tables in sequined ebony linens, add golden touches by way of charger plates or candle votives, and help the room not feel too heavy with translucent chairs. Offset dark hues with a soft floral pattern, or give an all-white wedding cake some drama with richly colored flowers... the options are endless! The key to achieving a great design is balance.
