Behind the Scenes With Alexandra Rembac
What’s the most eccentric request you’ve received from a bride? I honestly don’t think any request is too eccentric; all of my brides are so unique in their own way. If I had to pick one request though, it would be from a wedding we did on Halloween several years back. It was a Victorian-chic wedding on October 31st. I worked with the bride to design her authentic gown, which we had custom made, tail and all. The wedding was filled with an abundance of eccentric requests from the location to the music to requesting an actor to serve as their officiant. I loved it though, as the day truly represented them.
What’s your favorite aspect of a wedding? Oh gosh, there are so many. I love the "first look" and I actually secretly enjoy being there for it. I also love the vows, the reaction of guests walking in and seeing the reception, the father-daughter dance and so much more! I even love the rehearsal funny enough. Nerves are flying high and it really kicks off the wedding emotions which make the next 24 hours feel like a whirlwind of warm-and-fuzzy, amazing moments.
What other industry would you be in if not this one? While I love what I do and wouldn’t change it for the world… I have a passion for so many things I feel as though I could be in a variety of industries. I’d love to be in television development, own a restaurant, and maybe even practice law.
Which famous wedding in history would you have most liked to be involved with and why? Without hesitation, Jacqueline Bouvier to John Fitzgerald Kennedy. I happen to have a deep-seated love for both of them, their history, and her style.
