How a Groom-to-Be Proposed to His Fiancée with a Cup of Coffee

A few months ago, Emanuel knew he was ready to propose and wanted to make sure it was special. Back in 2015, his girlfriend Monica Parisi had presented him with a cappuccino that said “I love you” in the foam. Panicked, he only responded with “thank you,” which “was probably not what she was expecting,” Emanuel admits. Three years later, he realized he could use the proposal to redeem himself. He contacted the team at Ripples, which is a device that can print any message or image on foam-topped beverages, for help. The staff not only provided a list of New York City cafes that use Ripples machines, but they also offered to create a custom design for the occasion. 

Inside a chic coffee shop with a black-and-white aesthetic, Emanuel presented Monica with a cappuccino reading “Will you marry me?” in the foam as he got down on one knee with a diamond ring in his hand. “Thankfully she said yes instead of thank you,” he laughs. “I couldn’t have imagined a more romantic way to get engaged! It was so special to me that he proposed in such a sentimental way. I will never forget that moment,” reminisces Monica. Look through photos of their proposal below!
