How to Show Appreciation for Your Bridesmaids

First of all, it’s important to remember that these women are more than simply your bridesmaids: they’re your sisters, cousins, closest friends, or your future sister-in-law. Take the time to honor those relationships, rather than getting swept up in the wedding every time you talk. Ask about their lives and truly listen, without changing the subject to bridesmaid dresses or asking when they can help you with your latest DIY project. This will keep resentment from building, making sure that everyone will have a great time on your wedding day.

Of course, there will be times where you really do need to talk about your impending nuptials. While the choice of your bridal gown is really only up to you, when it comes to the bridesmaid dresses, you should really consider the opinions of the women who will be wearing them. This doesn’t mean you have to let them choose all different colors, none of which complement your flowers. However, you should give everyone some leeway within your guidelines and don’t ignore someone if the cost or fit makes her uncomfortable. 

If a bridesmaid asks how she can help, find a task that suits her personality and skill set. A super-organized friend who loves puzzles might enjoy working on your seating chart, while your club-hopping sister will know which songs will get people on the dance floor.
