Newly Renovated Historic Venue Opens This Fall
As the first property in Texas to gain membership into the exclusive group, Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Hotel Ella is wowing guests after its opening this fall. After a multi-million dollar renovation, the 19th-century property welcomes guests to the historical Goodall Wooten mansion. The original owners, who received the estate as a wedding gift in 1898, are celebrated throughout the redesign, with Ella Wooten as the namesake of the hotel and her husband Goodall remembered by the hotel’s sophisticated restaurant, Goodall’s Kitchen & Bar.
Commemorating the Wooten’s 116th wedding anniversary, the unveiling of Hotel Ella revealed a complete redesign of 48 expansive guest rooms, including ten suites, offering an air of modern elegance and refined taste to couples. Authentic architectural details such as columns, mantle work, and crown moldings remain, while a cabana-lined pool and an expansive veranda offer modern public spaces with Old World appeal. The hotel’s spacious Grand Ballroom makes for a stately wedding venue, and the short 20-minute drive from the airport presents effortless accommodations for out-of-town guests.
