Here is the information you want to include on the invitation!
After getting engaged, brides often quickly become well versed in wedding etiquette and everything else that goes into planning the big day. However, if her bridal party is still unmarried, didn’t have a big wedding, or hasn’t been a bridesmaid before, they might not be as familiar with certain customs. When it comes to buying the chosen dress and standing up with the bride during the ceremony, this is not a huge issue. However, if the maid of honor or other bridesmaids decide to throw a bridal shower, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and not be sure what to do. Even something as seemingly simple as invitations can be complicated if you’ve never thrown such a party before.

Here is the information you want to include on the invitation:
- The bride’s name. This is probably fairly obvious, though it’s important to note that unless it’s a coed shower, the groom’s name should not be included. If the wedding is between two brides, only list the one for whom the party is for, unless the couple is having a joint shower.
- Choose a formal or playful opener. Much like with wedding invitations, this should allude to the level of formality of the shower. Just make sure it is clear that this is a bridal shower.
- The location, date, and time. Another obvious one, but certainly necessary. Make sure everything is easy to read and understand. Do any of the guests come from different countries? Remember that many nations put the day before the month, so consider writing out the month instead of representing it with a number. Bridal showers are often daytime events, so denoting AM or PM is also crucial.
- Where to RSVP. Since shower invitations are usually not full suites with a separate response card, note a phone number and/or email address that prospective guests can contact in order to RSVP. Don’t forget to have a deadline for the response!
- The registry information. You may have heard it’s gauche to mention the registry on an invitation, which is true for weddings. However, since a shower’s entire purpose is to “shower” the guest of honor with gifts, it’s actually a big help to include this information.
