When a group of talented event professionals realized they all had an affinity for the “beauty of bohemian style and feel,” it only seemed natural to begin working together on a styled shoot surrounding an earthy theme. After discovering an enchanted forest-like setting on the idyllic 200 acres belonging to the Stoney Creek Bed & Breakfast in Ford City, Pennsylvania, the “Wandering Nomad” concept started to come to fruition.

Four lovely nymph brides celebrated their big day in flowy frocks. Two of them were clad in Daughters of Simone designs: a flirty off-the-shoulder chiffon dress with scalloped floral lace details and a romantic lace gown with eyelash trim. A third bride donned a strapless, high-waist frock with a two-tiered skirt by Mignonne Handmade. The last lass wore a draped-style dress of crinkled champagne fabric by Lindee Daniel. 

“I knew the beauty had to feel effortless and almost ethereal. Their hair and makeup couldn’t look contrived,” explains stylist Hannah Conard. So the brides showcased “soft dewy skin, tousled waves, and loose braids adorned with flowers and feathers they had gathered in the woods,” she describes. They carried abundant bouquets featuring large pastel pink and amber peonies. “I adore an eclectic bohemian look and chose ribbons in velvet tapestries and raw silks for their rich textures,” says florist Carmel Vandale of Mt. Lebanon Floral.

A free-spirit air is present in the country table, surrounded by mismatched chairs, set upon an oriental rug. Golden candelabra displayed a bevy of wildflowers – in vibrant gold, red, pink, and purple shades – and foliage that looked freshly picked from the landscape. Magenta plumes edged in black, along with crystal and golden strands, added other textures to the bouquets.

“For the tablescape I wanted to complement the bold colors of the florals, but not take away from [them],” notes Ansley Esterline of Bliss Events. “I paired tons of gold with a colorful patterned charger, elegant china, and simple, regal stemware.” The bloom illustrations gracing place cards, featuring names written in calligraphy, reflected the motif introduced by the ivory invitations swaddled by a swath of black silk and twine. Votive candles in bullion glass vessels exuded a warm glow.

An aged bureau chest covered in moss served as a place to display the wedding cake and light hors d’oeuvres of artisanal cheese, fruits, and walnuts. Set on a stump, the ivory confection seemed overgrown with a variety of blossoms and verdure. A plush tufted chair with sage green upholstery was set nearby. As night descended, a lounge area with vintage furnishings beneath a canopy of light bulbs strung between trees offered a stylish spot to take a breather from the revelry.

"We’ve each had quite a few brides and grooms who have expressed a longing desire to detail their celebrations in a bohemian style, but so often, couples hold back because it can seem like an unattainable vibe and feel overwhelming," shares Veronica of Veronica Varos Photography. “So, we wanted to create a bohemian wedding inspiration session to inspire couples and to show that it is something they can pull off beautifully. Think outside the box, be fearless, and let your inspiration lead the way.”
