The small alfresco reception that followed the intimate Catholic vow exchange between Leila Khalil and Tony Lewis also served as the rehearsal dinner for the pair’s larger, formal wedding to come. Focused on evoking the warm feeling of a family dinner, the event design featured cushioned benches surrounding rustic hardwood tables arranged in a horseshoe shape. Table runners were topped with earthy arrangements of flowers, and napkins were tied with springs of fresh rosemary. Beautifully printed menus reflected Mediterranean dishes that were served family style, and a fireplace mantel adorned with flowers added a homey, indoor touch. “It was such an intimate setting of storytelling and happy tears,” recalls the bride. “We could all see one another and feel close to everyone there.”
