When Chicago-based wedding professionals Akeshi Akinseye of Kesh Events, Michelle Durpetti of Michelle Durpetti Events, and photographer Collin Pierson traveled to San José del Cabo, they took the opportunity to create a styled wedding inspiration shoot at a gorgeous property overlooking the sea. With creating and producing an inspirational shoot in a romantic beach location on their collective professional bucket list, they started making arrangements once the plans were set forth by Traveluxe, a travel concierge that services their clients.
"Oceanside romance was the inspiration behind the creative shoot," shares Durpetti. "The Solaz property is such a sleek, contemporary property, so when Akeshi was talking about wanting to create something so romantic, I was so excited to bring it to life in a property that I felt would always encourage people to be a little more modern and clean," she adds.
"Shooting at Solaz was both a pleasure and a thrill for me as nobody had ever shot there!" shares Pierson. "I knew we had a location that was both unique and an environment well-suited to create an amazing concept." To create the amorous atmosphere, whites, creams, and a touch of blush florals adorned the tablescape. To utilize some of the natural textures found around the resort environment, gorgeous marble and finished woods were incorporated.
A mix of soft colors, textures, and various heights, metals, and greens brought the tablescape to life. The timeless, sophisticated décor was shown by way of a beachside ceremony with a modern floral arch, a modern cocktail hour with petite floral arrangements and chic lounge seating, and an elegant reception. The dinner table was left bare of linens save for a romantic lace runner; centerpieces showcased arrangements of roses, lisianthus blossoms, and foliage in vases of varying shapes and sizes.
"Every gorgeous wedding truly comes to life within the couple around whom the wedding is created, and the same goes for a creative shoot," notes Durpetti. "We were looking to tell a story of romance, and in doing so, had an idea of who our couple would be: willing and excited to exchange vows on the beach with their toes in the sand, but still looking for a curated experience and attention to detail for an intimate gathering of loved ones."
