Though Eileen Bellew and Kevin Houston had endured tremendous heartbreak during the course of their lives, the day they wed seemed to bring their love and families full-circle. Having each gone through the pain of losing a beloved spouse, Eileen and Kevin had faced many of the same challenges coping with their losses, and had successfully managed to raise children as single parents. Although the couple grew up in the same small town, their paths had not crossed until the two began to correspond, sharing their stories and finding solace in their mutual understanding. After several months of supportive communication, the two met casually, and when dating ensued after tentatively spending time together, the pair quickly fell in love.
The couple and their households brewed with excitement as they began planning their wedding. During this time, Eileen and Kevin submitted a video along with their story to enter the LIVE! With Kelly Hawaiian Dream Wedding contest... and lo and behold, their tale proved to be the ultimate love story and won! Eileen and Kevin were gifted with a luxurious wedding at the all-new Aulani Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina that was filmed for and featured on LIVE! With Kelly, and will be included in fabulous new Aulani advertisements.
For the ceremony, a gorgeous custom walkway was created that incorporated flower petals that followed a hibiscus design printed on the bright white aisle runner. Along the path were wooden pedestals and tall, cylindrical vases, both filled to the brim with tropical florals in coral, sunshine, and cream mingled with traditional roses in full bloom.
Eileen -- who was styled for the wedding by Carson Kressley -- wore a fitted strapless gown with a teal ribbon sash that glistened with sparkling crystal detail, perfect for the beachside nuptials. A trail of vibrant orchids tucked behind her ear complemented the bride’s side-swept hairstyle, along with glistening diamond dangle earrings. The respective daughters of the bride and groom wore dresses in splashes of azure hues and held bouquets in shades of canary and vanilla that mimicked those of the bride. Their sons wore dapper black suits, cobalt ties, and traditional Hawaiian leis.
A wooden arch was erected for the dreamy vow exchange in which the couple recited testaments to each other before friends, family, and the LIVE! With Kelly audience. The framework of the stage was decorated with abundant greenery, colorful tropical flowers, in addition to sunny calla lilies and snowy roses. The finale of the ceremony was sealed with a kiss, while the officiant ceremoniously blew from a seashell per Hawaiian custom.
The love of Eileen and Kevin formed the union of two families and proved to be a true Happily Ever After.
