Amanda Brown knew that David Arriaga Jr. was The One the moment they first met. “There was something intriguing that I couldn’t shake. I just knew with certainty that this wouldn’t be the last time I saw him. We danced all night and although I did feel I would see him again, I didn’t know when,” Amanda reminisces. Months later, the two had their first date at Disneyland, the same place David eventually proposed. “David became my best friend and the truest love I’ve ever known,” she muses.
The Southern California couple hosted their nuptials at Vibiana in Downtown Los Angeles for its enchanting architecture and reputable service. “That level of service, matched with the beauty of the venue, made a magical pairing for the venue of our dreams. The service from the first call to the send-off on our wedding date was unbelievably amazing,” Amanda affirms. “I met Eric of Leilani Weddings in a very serendipitous way. We were both working an event and I expressed my excitement in being engaged and the joy of finding my venue. What I cherish deeply about Eric was that he didn’t capitalize on my stress; he celebrated my happiness. He expressed that he felt he could only add to a beautiful celebration,” she remembers. “Within the first call we had, I knew this was a person, furthermore a company, I could trust with my best interest. Eric brought a vibrant energy to our wedding, he polished each moment with attention to detail and creative edge. Leilani Weddings was single-handedly the most important choice I made, besides of course my husband.”
Envisioning elegance with an edge, they adorned the space with white blooms and champagne spray-painted greenery. “It was that icy touch that elevated the arrangements. [They] were lush, full, and dramatic,” she tells. The décor created a romantic ambience that Amanda would never forget. “I walked into the most beautiful room I had ever seen in my entire life holding onto my dad’s arm with the love of my life at standing in front of me,” she remembers. Guests found their table assignments by way of mirrored seating charts with names written in elegant calligraphy. Tables were strewn with velvet linens and topped with napkins to provide a wintry, luxurious touch. Rhinestones added a bit of glam to the space, and each menu card was personalized with every guest’s name.
Among the many wow factors of their fête was the glamorous confection displayed at the reception. “I wanted to weave in the iconic Vibiana marble throughout the wedding, so we selected a marble design on the largest tier with a gold-brushed foil on the middle and a classic white on the smallest tier,” she describes. It also showcased a gold mirror “Happily Ever After” cake topper designed with Mickey and Minnie Mouse ears as a nod to their first date and proposal. “Because Disney has held such a special place in our hearts, we wanted to add a subtle touch of the magic,” Amanda explains. In lieu of party favors, guests received late-night snacks as they flooded the dance floor throughout the evening.
Reflecting on her wedding, Amanda advises engaged couples to not overthink the little things: “While every detail is so special to that day, don’t give the smaller details more space in your mind than they deserve.”
