Love was in the air when Morgan Ingram and Andrew Hamblen were introduced in high school by two mutual friends. “Within our first meeting, we both immediately were drawn to each other,” reminisces Morgan of meeting the cute senior one year ahead of her. Five years later, Andrew proposed in front of their immediate family at Morgan’s childhood home, with the help of her mother and best friend, and afterwards, all of their friends and extended family were invited to a surprise engagement party to celebrate.
As the bride and groom are close with their families, planning a fun wedding weekend for everyone was of the utmost importance to the couple, who lives in a small town about 30 minutes outside of Nashville. “I wanted our wedding to be an experience,” affirms Morgan, adding that they decided to wed in Franklin, Tennessee, selected for its charm, abundance of accommodations for traveling guests, and an array of lively activities that would make for a fun, full weekend.
With so much to organize leading up to the big day, the bride worked closely with her husband-to-be, her family, and also shares that she could not have done it without the help of her wedding planner. “She truly took every idea that I had and made it turn into my actual dream wedding,” she says. “When you start planning your wedding, you have so many ideas flowing… It was nice to have a wedding planner to make those ideas make sense and become a reality!”
The couple found a gorgeous venue that allowed them to have an outdoor ceremony, followed by a romantic barn reception that fit the desired look and feel of their dream celebration. “I wanted a very fall-centered wedding,” confirms Morgan of the vision for their November nuptials that would play into all of the autumnal color schemes and elegant details they dreamed up with their wedding planner. “Grey took my ideas and made the perfect mix of fall meets classy,” affirms the bride.
“I wanted a very fall-centered wedding!”
Morgan and Andrew kept their ceremony fairly traditional – even opting to forgo a first look and see each other for the first time when Morgan walked down the aisle. “After being together for six years at this point, Andrew said he had always envisioned that moment and knew he wanted to follow that tradition. We had a long aisle walkway to our outdoor ceremony, and the moment our eyes met, it truly felt like it was just the two of us,” smiles the beautiful bride. “It was the most special moment after picturing it for so long.” They were married beneath an incredible arch of fall-toned florals, which also decorated the aisle.
The fall color scheme continued with an alfresco cocktail hour, which showcased small autumnal arrangements that adorned cocktail tables and coffee tables surrounded by cozy lounge furniture. Even the libations of the day honored the season with an old-fashioned fall apple cider specialty cocktail that set the tone for the party to come. Guests then found their table assignments for the reception attached to a mirror with romantic wax seals that provided a vintage-inspired feel.
Since the venue had two different indoor event spaces, the couple elected to use one for an intimate dinner service and the other one for dancing. “In the reception barn, we had beautiful florals, and it truly was all my fall wedding dreams in one room,” starts the bride. “The ‘party space’ truly felt like a party with a large open dance floor, fairy lights lighting up the ceiling where it felt like stars were inside with us, a photo booth, and large bar.”
The bride was impressed with the décor showcasing a blend of fall colors with golds and different textures, all brought to life by their wedding-planning team. Greenery was also added to allow the fall foliage to be brought inside. “It was truly just a dream with the amount of florals that were encompassing the room,” describes Morgan of the bud vases and candles lining longer tables, the tall centerpieces atop round tablescapes, and the fresh foliage wrapping around columns to tie everything together.
“The whole wedding reflected my personality, but our ‘party’ reception space reflected both Andrew and I as a couple,” notes the bride. “We have been together since we were 17 and are now in our almost mid-20s. We wanted our reception to truly become a party and reflect the things we enjoy,” she muses. Guests received wedding-branded koozies and reusable cups for drinks at the bar, as well as fun cowboy hats to keep the dance floor lively all night long before the newlyweds’ grand exit surrounded by all of their closest family and friends that perfectly capped off a day to remember.
