The beauty of nature is unmatched: for centuries, brides and grooms have been saying “I do” in alfresco settings tailored to their specific styles while respecting the wonder of the environment. In recent years, Napa Valley has become a popular destination for couples looking for natural settings in which to wed.
The picturesque setting of this Northern California location inspired Jordan Payne of Jordan Payne Events to create a styled wedding shoot that complemented the motif. “The inspiration of this shoot was a romantic tabletop using nature (greens, browns, blush) as the setting and feminine, pretty textures in the floral, linen, and chair embellishments,” Jordan explains. “This tabletop would be stunning nestled deep in the woods of Napa, California!”
The round, wooden table was bedecked with a soft avocado linen matching the greenery of the garden. White charger plates with gold rim detailing – handpicked from Consilium Lifestyle Collections – were flanked by metallic flatware and topped with a variety of stemmed blush perennials, adding a fairy-tale element. Miniature ivory candles or varying shapes encircled the floral centerpiece: a low, lush arrangement containing numerous alabaster and champagne blooms with long, green leaves inside a vase made to look like a small, wide tree stump. The tablescape was surrounded with simple wooden chairs adorned with delicate pink rosettes fastened to the back of the intersecting planks.
Though the shoot location was in metropolitan Dallas, Texas, Jordan accomplished a verdant woodland concept worthy of California wine country. The inspiring tablescape is an example of how a location can be transformed with details to create any theme you desire for your wedding day. While rustic wedding themes are most commonly selected for outdoor or barn weddings, subtle detailing and dedication to a theme can transform any space into a nature-inspired setting.
