“The idea for a Beauty and the Beast-themed inspiration shoot, of course, came from the excitement of the new movie!” exclaims photographer Meghan Rose of Meghan Rose Photography. With the idea sparked from the release of the new live-action remake of the classic film, Meghan got to work designing a wedding styled shoot that mirrored the vintage charm of the story. “I really wanted to make sure that this idea did not turn into a cheesy or corny spin-off, but instead, reflected the classic French overtones of the original fairy tale,” she notes.
Upon selecting a French restaurant to host the event, two models were brought in and dressed up with Belle and Prince Adam in mind. The bride wore her hair in the appropriate half-up, half-down loose bun and donned a beautiful A-line gown in ivory – a departure from Belle’s classic yellow for a wedding vibe – featuring lace detailing in the bodice, while the groom sported a deep navy suit with a bright red tie to complement the strong colors of the floral elements throughout the shoot. To add a little extra dose of magic, the bride wore a floral-inspired engagement ring. While holding a cluster of red and ivory blooms, the two took breathtaking shots both indoors in a greenhouse and outdoors in the snow.
The invitation suites displayed the perfect combination of gold and navy, which translated perfectly into the rest of the décor. Two long, verdant runners – one surrounded by candles of varying heights along the floor and the other resting atop the mantel over the rustic fireplace – added an idyllic amount of greenery to the space. The small tablescape featured a deep blue linen, colorful charger plates showcasing red, blue, and yellow rims, and floral arrangements in an array of sizes, all brimming with ivory and scarlet blossoms. As a final touch, the towering blue-and-gilt cake was displayed on a table adjacent to various elements indicative of the movie, including a candelabra, clock, and a single red rose encased in glass.
