Amanda Greenberg and Anderson Jonas met as teenagers, but the timing just never seemed to be in their favor. “Years later, I saw her beautiful face on a dating app and we both matched,” confides Anderson. Amanda was equally excited: “I just remember being captivated by the same smile I saw years before,” she reveals. “What was truly memorable was his infectious laugh, fabulous humor, and sweet nature.”

Anderson admits that he fell in love with Amanda immediately and knew very early on that he wanted her to be his wife. He arranged to meet her mother and stepfather to ask for their blessing to propose, and while on a getaway to New York City, after a long day of travel, Anderson surprised his beloved on bended knee in the hotel elevator.

The pair desired to host their celebration at a landmark venue. “A true Los Angeles icon,” describes the bride. “Both Anderson and I have strong ties to LA, being both born and raised here and loving the city.” A luxury hotel in Beverly Hills fit the bill to perfection, providing a chic combination of sophistication and whimsy that the couple felt fit their personalities.

With the guidance of Alyson Fox of Levine Fox Events – whom the couple say they hired for her wedding-planning expertise and design skills – Amanda and Anderson made arrangements for their big day focusing on elements that did not appear manufactured or overly manicured. “I wanted the florals to look really organic, like they were just growing in the garden,” illustrates the bride. “I wanted seating to look like garden furniture, and I didn’t have a color scheme.”

“I wanted the florals to look really organic, like they were just growing in the garden.”

Amanda’s vision was brought to fruition on the big day with a gorgeous, organic setup in the lush garden of the property. The natural, green setting was breathtaking, coupled with frothy bunches of florals, as well as a pillow of petals generously sprinkled across the well-manicured grassy pathway. A floral chuppah framed the spot where the couple would exchange their handwritten “I dos” during the modern, Jewish ceremony

Preceding the bride was her bridal party, who had been instructed to wear a gown of their choosing. The maid of honor opted for a floral print that highlighted a shade of each bridesmaid dress. “It was fabulous,” describes the bride of the stylish looks that complemented the décor of the space. Guests were in awe as Amanda made her grand entrance in an off-the-shoulder bridal gown featuring dainty straps and billowing upper-arm sleeves.

To complement the historic hotel and all its glamour, the reception décor concept was elegant and inspired by “colorful 1960s weddings with flowers all around,” illustrates the bride of the retro look that included centerpieces comprised of periwinkle, peach, and melon-hued blooms. Tablescapes were beautifully set with vintage crystal glassware, tapered candlelight, gilt flatware, and atop each crisp linen napkin was a fresh floral stem.

One of the bride’s favorite elements of the reception was the all-white, retro-inspired wedding cake made complete with a traditional bride-and- groom cake topper that Amanda discovered on Etsy. “They looked just like us. It’s hard to find a brunette bride and lighter-haired groom, so I can’t believe I found one!” she exclaims.

Dancing and merriment rounded out the rest of the evening in a magical way. “Everyone at our wedding was blown away by the live band and kept saying to us that they couldn’t believe how good the music was,” the groom says. For the bride, the entertainment also proved to be one of her fondest memories. “Hearing the band play the first riff of our song, ‘Let Me Roll It’ by Paul McCartney and Wings, for us to dance to made my heart melt when it started to play, and I looked into Anderson’s eyes,” she reveals of the romantic moment.

Anderson says there is “absolutely nothing” he would do differently for the big day. “I was so overwhelmed with love for Amanda,” he describes. The new Mrs. suggests to other couples preparing for their nuptials: “You are going to have so many people tell you what to do the whole time, so just listen to your instincts… get everything as ready as possible so that on the day you can have a blast with your partner!”
