A random roommate assignment in their freshman year of college brought Jordan Masarek and Eric Keller together. “We met the first week of school,” Jordan explains. “One of Eric’s roommates was my friend from high school back in Connecticut!” After years of dating, Eric surprised his sweetheart with a trip to his grandparents’ beach house in Florida. They went on a picnic later that night when he popped the question. The new bride-to-be excitedly asked if she could call her parents, to which her fiancé replied: “Why don’t you just turn around?” Both her and his parents came running down the beach to celebrate. 

The couple decided to wed outside the bride’s hometown, and with the help of Jordan’s childhood rabbi and Eric’s childhood pastor, they created their entire interfaith ceremony. “It was very important to us that we incorporated both religions,” the bride shares.

Though the vow exchange was indoors, the chuppah and surrounding décor had a natural look full of greenery. Jordan walked down the aisle with her father and grandfather, looking ethereal in her bridal gown with a flowing modified A-line skirt and bodice with modern lace and a sweetheart neckline. Eric looked dashing in a classic tuxedo, and the couple was all smiles throughout the joyous vow exchange.

The reception space had a largely neutral color palette exuding a simple elegance. Light grey linens with white chairs complemented the marble and geometric details of the modern aesthetic. Although most of the floral design featured white blossoms and greenery, there were slight touches of blue and lavender for some pops of color. Votive candles added warmth to the cool tones on the table.

Despite having over 230 people at the wedding, the families of the bride and groom made sure each and every attendee felt appreciated. “Our families wrote personal letters to every guest at the wedding – the letters were waiting for each guest at their table when they entered the reception,” reveals Jordan. During dinner, she and her newly minted husband walked around the tent to take pictures, as well as enjoy time with their beloved dog. “It was an opportunity to walk around and just ‘take it all in,’” confides the bride.
