Though more and more couples in the wedding planning process are incorporating colorful color palettes throughout their events, it's not often we see design schemes showcasing the color yellow as a primary hue.

With the goal of inspiring couples to embrace the unexpected with their wedding décor, Kaylen Davidson – owner of Sara Judith Events – teamed up with a group of talented local wedding vendors to create a bright, joyful styled ceremony and reception at a charming restaurant venue on the Winooski River in Vermont, a state that has become a highly sought-after wedding destination for couples in the New York and New Jersey areas.

"Most people associate sunlight, summertime, and smiley faces with the color yellow – all things that make people feel joy," explains Kaylen Davidson of Sara Judith Events of the reason why the lively hue was selected for the warm, romantic styled shoot by the water.

"The goal was to express the peaceful ambience of the venue with the joyful energy of yellow."

Stunning stationery and paper goods highlighted bright yellow accents by way of watercolor floral designs, striking enclosure cards and menus with wavy scalloped edging, and additional details such as bands, monogrammed tags, and overlays. The model bride was a vision in a sleek, modern gown featuring a plunging neckline and carrying a unique presentation bouquet of sunny blooms.

For the ceremony, guest chairs were arranged on either side of the aisle sprinkled with bright yellow flower petals. The spot for the vow exchange was arranged in front of the industrial-style restaurant's exterior, with a "cloud" of yellow blossoms displayed overhead and additional blooms in the same hue accented with organic branches on either side.

For the reception, tablescapes were arranged between the brick walls embellished with greenery and the floor-to-ceiling windows offering a view of the river to guests. "The venue, Waterworks, which sits along the Winooski River, has a constant water flow, creating a sense of serenity. The goal was to express the peaceful ambience of the venue with the joyful energy of yellow through photos," shares Kaylen of Sara Judith Events

Long tables were covered with white linens and decorated with low centerpieces showcasing compilations of yellow and apricot-toned florals, as well as verdure and curly twigs, in low vessels and metallic bud vases. Candleholders in the same warm metallic hue held tall taper candles in buttermilk, a color that also adorned the floral place cards. Each guest's place setting incorporated golden flatware, ceramic plates, and scalloped menus atop subtle-patterned napkins to complete the look.
