While taking a winter vacation in Turks and Caicos, Tracy Weinberg and Braden Aftergood met poolside. They clearly had something in common, as they were the only two people enjoying their downtime by reading scripts. After striking up a conversation, they discovered that they both lived in Los Angeles, California, and worked in the entertainment industry: she for Paramount Pictures and he for the company producing the TV show, Friday Night Lights. “We joke that it took 3,000 miles and a white sandy beach to bring us together, when in fact we only lived two miles apart,” smiles Tracy. Such are the mysterious ways of destiny.

Seven years later, when planning their wedding, the location where life first brought them together also inspired the venue selection of where they would unite their lives forever – a luxurious oceanside resort. The ceremony was held on a verdant bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. White chairs were set in front of a rustic wooden structure adorned with garlands of greenery anchored by a compilation of fuchsia, white, and golden blooms.

Though Tracy and Braden do not consider themselves religious, the couple felt it was important to honor their Jewish heritage by having a traditional service officiated by a reform rabbi. “The most memorable moment was standing in front of each other with the ocean behind us, the sun setting, and our closest friends and family witnessing the beginning of the next chapter in our lives,” says the bride, who was radiant in a lace gown and flowing overskirt by Monique Lhuillier.

However, Tracy and Braden did not take that opportunity to express the personal declarations they had written. “Instead of reciting our vows during the ceremony, we decided to wait until before the cake-cutting ceremony. This way, our guests were all relaxed, as were we, and it added an unexpected sentimental note amidst the reception,” she explains. The white confection was adorned with cascading fuchsia blooms, which were also the central component of centerpieces and floral runners – some of which were offset by chevron linens, which graced tables for the sit-down dinner. Vibrant floral arrangements were placed in an array of colorful peacock blue, vivid pink, and glittery gold vessels – hues that reminded the newlyweds of their fortuitous time in Turks and Caicos – and surrounded by votive candles.

“For our guests, the wedding was a true success because of our spectacular [event] planners and the stellar vendors who made sure the music was rocking, the food was fantastic, the flowers were stunning, and the photographs reflected every ounce of warmth and fun!” concludes Tracy.
