Five years after their courthouse “I dos,” Umida and Jeremy Roma planned the wedding of their dreams to celebrate their fifth anniversary. As Jeremy has loved tree houses since he was young, the couple desired a venue surrounded by nature. They selected a beautiful ranch in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains and hired an esteemed wedding team to orchestrate the perfect day.

“I really loved the planning process with our designer and planner Charley [King of Bluebell Events],” affirms the bride, who had a vision of hosting a Malibu wedding inspired by Dubai – the luxurious destination where she and Jeremy first met. “She made it happen! We were so thrilled with how our glamorous tree house ended up looking and feeling.”

Loved ones took their seats in a grass meadow surrounded by towering trees as the sounds of a natural stone waterfall and a live guitarist filled the spring air. Umida was stunning in a sparkling long-sleeve gown as she walked down the mirrored aisle to join her groom beneath a reflective structure adorned with thousands of florals in white and blush. “I love flowers, so we wanted to make sure every inch of our venue was covered with the most gorgeous blooms,” she shares. After the vow exchange, a confetti canon released hundreds of falling petals in celebration.

“We wanted our guests to feel very special, and we wanted to make our tree house in the sky exquisite in every way.”

As they wanted the design of both the ceremony and reception to be cohesive, the nuptials continued with a sophisticated and glamorous night under the stars. Keeping their guests’ experience top of mind, friends and family were surrounded by stately oak trees decorated with thousands of crystals and fragrant flowers suspended above. “We wanted our guests to feel very special, and we wanted to make our tree house in the sky exquisite in every way,” Umida smiles.

Loved ones found their seats atop golden chairs at either mirrored serpentine or round tables highlighting ambient candlelight, chic floral centerpieces in romantic tones, and elegant place settings showcasing gilded flatware, ornate bullion-toned china, monogrammed napkins, and crystal glassware. Umida and Jeremy were seated at a lavish floral-enveloped sweetheart table situated in front of a towering flower wall as they witnessed the merriment of attendees.

To further wow their loved ones, Jeremy had a special surprise in store. “Two weeks before the wedding, Jeremy reached out to our planner Charley and asked her what else we could do at the wedding that would really thrill our guests who were traveling in from all over the world,” describes Umida. “Charley suggested a drone show! My husband was thrilled with this idea, and we had so much fun coming up with our love story in the sky and all the music to go with it.”

The couple also flew in an Uzbekistan dance company from New York to honor Umida’s family, who had traveled all the way from her home country. “It was a magical moment,” confirms the bride of the special dances she and her husband joined in on in their traditional attire. “From the live Uzbekistan performers to the solo guitarist that wondered the crowd, and the epic drone show that shocked everyone, to the DJ and MC rocking the dance floor, it was perfect,” Jeremy says. Umida muses: “It was everything and more that we could have dreamt about.”
