When Alexandra Kreiner heard that a friend was having dinner with her Australian mate Jake Rosen, Aly thankfully invited herself along. “We immediately clicked,” she remembers. From then on, they became the best of friends and their relationship blossomed in New York City during the lockdowns.
“Living together during Covid was a big driver in progressing our relationship to the point of knowing I would propose,” affirms Jake. As they later chose to move to his hometown of Sydney together, Jake planned a romantic proposal when Aly’s parents were visiting their new home for the first time. Of course, she said yes.
With their friends and families located on opposite sides of the world, Aly and Jake decided to get married in the Los Angeles area, so all of their guests would have a direct flight available. “Malibu is also such a special place to us because we spent so much time there when traveling through California on holiday,” explains the bride.
Since they started planning from overseas during the pandemic, they weren’t sure they’d be able to visit beforehand, but working with local wedding planner Natalie Sofer put them at ease. “To our surprise, we did get to take a trip to LA to do tastings and meet our vendors. It was amazing to finally meet Natalie in person,” Aly says.
Sharing a common love for wine – and even collecting wines from California for years – the couple chose a gorgeous Tuscan-inspired vineyard estate as the site of their alfresco nuptials. Though Aly had always envisioned a neutral color scheme for the big day, Jake had the idea to select multicolored flowers and they ran with it. “I’m so happy we did,” she confirms of the choice, which inspired the pastel palette that worked beautifully with the natural setting of the surrounding vineyards. “Our colors were romantic, lively, and embody our relationship.”

With expansive views of the Santa Monica Mountains as their backdrop, Aly and Jake exchanged vows during a sunny Jewish ceremony beneath the “chuppah of my dreams,” confirms the bride of the gorgeous structure enveloped in fresh verdure and lush blooms in shades of cream, blush, yellow, and lavender.
Once they were pronounced husband and wife, friends and family enjoyed a cocktail hour complete with his-and-hers signature drinks – plus a third selection in honor of their dog Olive – before finding their seats beneath twinkling lights for the open-air reception.
Whitewashed vineyard cross-back chairs surrounded long wooden farm tables as well as round varieties covered with neutral linens. Full, textured centerpieces in soft tones highlighted roses, ranunculuses, and poppies – the bride’s favorite flowers – and taupe taper candles, rosy votives, and light green goblets added even more color to the whimsical garden-inspired tablescapes.
The rest of the night was spent dancing under the stars with their guests who had traveled from across the world to celebrate their “I dos.” To add extra-special elements to the dance floor, a live saxophonist performed alongside their DJ and a silent disco allowed the newlyweds to extend the best night of their lives surrounded by their loved ones.
