With more and more couples choosing smaller events over larger ones – either by choice or due to state restrictions – this particular wedding shoot will serve as inspiration to turn a small, at-home affair into an exquisite experience for every single guest, as well as the couple of honor. "The inspiration behind this shoot has been the rise of intimate gatherings being celebrated in private homes," shares Michelle Durpetti of Michelle Durpetti Events, who encourages couples to hire professionals to make the big day absolutely breathtaking – and ease the stresses that come with planning a wedding of any size.

Even though the celebration may be small, it's still of the utmost importance to have a professional photographer on hand in order to capture all of the memories, portraits, and detail shots – as Collin Pierson Photography did for this particular shoot. He put a focus on taking getting-ready shots of the bride in her Viktor & Rolf gown from Belle Atelier, portraits of the couple outside of the venue and in the reception space itself, the invitations and paper goods designed by Eight21 Studio, and all of the glamorous décor and details.

"We all love the idea of smaller weddings, family celebrations, and milestone moments being celebrated in a home that already has so many wonderful memories for those celebrating," she adds, encouraging couples to feel free to stay home if they so choose. However, if having a luxury wedding with a larger guest list was part of your original plan, don't be afraid to still add a level of formality to a more intimate wedding by way of attire, florals, and décor. In this case, the bride was stunning in an off-the-shoulder designer gown with bow detailing at the shoulders, and she carried a lush bouquet of blooms and verdure designed by Taylor & Co Events.

Though there may only be one table to decorate for a smaller guest count or a family-only affair, having talented wedding professionals on your team will ensure that you make the most of an intimate soirée. This celebration in the dining room of a private home featured stunning décor in an autumnal palette. The table was strewn with an embroidered linen by Windy City Linen and topped with stunning dahlias and roses, ambient candlelight from taper candles and crystal-and-brass candleholders, and layered place settings from The Festive Frog. In addition to the romantic décor that gave the small tablescape a formal feel, guests enjoyed tasty Italian fare by Gene & Georgetti and a beautifully decorated cake by Toni Patisserie!

"It was important for us to show how important it is now, more than ever, to hire professional vendors as your creative partners – even though these are smaller events," Michelle notes. "Professionalism, creativity, and of course knowledge of COVID-19 safety protocols and procedures are all so important when planning a wedding or event these days, and this shoot showcases the kind of magic that can all come to life when a true collaborative effort happens."
